Morphryx · In development

A labyrinth with no walls — every step changes exactly one thing.

Every cell is a glyph: a shape, a color, a number. You may only step onto a neighbor that differs in exactly one feature — the legal moves are the maze. Your trail burns behind you, dead ends wait in every branch, and the only limit is your move budget.

The premise

The rule fits in a sentence. The maze doesn't.

A step is legal only onto an adjacent glyph that differs in exactly one feature — a circle becomes a triangle, cyan becomes amber, a 1 becomes a 2. That single rule carves corridors, junctions and dead ends out of a board that has no walls at all.

Nothing is highlighted — you read the glyphs yourself. A wrong branch stays walkable until it isn't, and walking back is always allowed: it just costs the moves you spent getting there.

Genre

Glyph labyrinth — a maze whose walls are a rule, not geometry.

Tone

Calm and deliberate — deep-space glow, gentle haptics, and a move counter that only ever asks you to think.

Core systems

Three features, a maze of consequences

One rule, read it yourself

Shape, color, number — exactly one may change per step. The game never highlights your options: spotting the legal neighbors is the puzzle.

Your trail is the wall

Every cell you leave burns out behind you — the labyrinth literally grows in your wake. Cross your own path and you're cornered; plan the order, not just the route.

Dead ends are part of it

Branches fork and nest like a real maze — a wrong turn can lead five cells deep before it dies. Walking back is always legal; it just spends your moves.

One budget, no other limits

No rewind tokens, no locked cells — the move counter is the only constraint. Slack scales with the labyrinth, so exploring a dead end is a lesson, not a death sentence.

Generated, guaranteed solvable

A corridor forest grows around a verified golden path — every dead end is walkable in and out, and any lucky shortcut gets rejected before you ever see the board.

Achievements & autosave

A tiered achievement ladder rewards deep runs and flawless paths. Runs autosave after every move — quit mid-level and CONTINUE drops you right back.

The shape of a run

The glyph space grows teeth slowly

Levels start pure — one color, shapes only, a short path on a 4×4 board. Then the maze deepens: a second color at level 5, a third at 11, numerals at 17, and by the twenties you're navigating an 8×8 forest of 27 glyph variants where dead ends have dead ends.

It never ends — every level is generated fresh, harder than the last, and flawless solves (par path, zero backtracks) keep your score climbing. The only thing between you and the next board is the move budget.

27

Glyph combos at full depth

3 shapes × 3 colors × 3 numbers — unlocked step by step, never all at once.
